Our collaborations

Over the years, we worked alongside other community groups, charities and repair cafes in Sheffield. We soon realised that we can only do so much to protect our environment as a humble repair cafe. So by reaching out and working together with other like-minded groups of people, we can do so much more for the planet!

Repair Sheffield

Repair Sheffield is a group of volunteer repairers who fix a wide range of items. They include clothes, small electrical items, toys and tools. They hold repair cafe events at Heeley City Farm on Saturdays, and at Strip The Willow on Abbeydale Road on Sundays. These events run once every month at 10am until 4pm, and alternate between the two venues.

They also previously worked with us to run combined repair cafe sessions at Abbeyfield Park House. We brought our computer repairs experience together with their expertise in fixing many other items. Together, we operated as a one-stop service for repairs!

Green City Action

Green City Action is a charity that helps people in Burngreave work together to become sustainable and improve the environment. It runs a community allotment, where a team of volunteers help grow organic produce. It also ran the Community Tool Bank at Abbeyfield Park House, where people can hire various gardening tools.

In 2019, we worked with Green City Action and Repair Sheffield to hold two relaunch events for the Community Tool Bank. The Tool Bank offered to sharpen tools for local people, while we held a combined repair cafe with Repair Sheffield. In August 2021, Green City Action closed the Tool Bank, as it was unable to secure enough funding to continue operating the service.

Access Space

Access Space was an open digital arts lab that focuses on sustainability through the reuse of technology. Until 2017, we took part in their repairs workshops every Wednesday at Refab Space. It was based at Sidney Street in the City Centre. Attendance was modest, and we moved onto working on other projects. Access Space has since closed Refab Space, and now holds events between different venues.
